- Looking at the cover I was hoping to find a fun and cheery book. While I acknowledge that the illustrations were bright, colorful, interesting, not to mention nearly full page; I sometimes felt as if the illustrator had used a toolbar with all of the parts on it, such as the mouths, the flowers, mama's apron and the birds, then mixed and matched those parts and then used the paint tool to change colors.
If the only problem was that the illustrations felt like someone played with their art software, I would have given this a 4. The main issue is with the poetry.
For a book like this, targeted to be read to a preschool child, then the poetry should be smooth and consistent. Reading this out loud was difficult as the lines from verse to verse were of different lengths. First lines were all 10 syllables (except for the number 7). Second lines ranged from 9-14 syllables. The third line was from 10-12 syllables. The variations kept me from developing a rhythm while reciting.
The last issue has to do with formatting. I viewed this story using my for PC . The words in relationship to the page were varied and uneven. Several times the last line would be on the following page by itself. I also looked at on the Cloud Reader, this problem isn't there although the first line of 10 is to the right of the illustration instead of below it like all of the other numbers.
While I think this could be a decent counting backwards book, with the poetry as is, I can't recommend it. - 10 Little Piggies is a lovely book for children. It is a fact, universally acknowledged, that pigs are fascinating to little children.
The counting and sweet, funny little rhymes are ideal for two year olds to five year olds, both for learning and for fun.

Illustrated very colorful children's book about the 10 piggies and they love mud.
As they lose one to supper, the others continue on in the mud til their Mama calls them.
Great learning book that helps you to count using subtraction. - This was a very cute children's that rhymes along with the little piggies squealing in the mud. I thought it was really cute how each piggy was given their own style. Overall it was a decent children's rhyming book.
- There's a simple rhyme scheme supporting a plot of Mama Pig calling her ten kids indoors out of the mud pit where they have been playing. The plot never advances past this. The rhymes feel forced and the pictures are not enough to save it.
- I have read some of her books...She is a Fabulous writer...she is doing a great job with her pen....
This Story book brought me back to my School days..I enjoyed reading it..I gifted it to my Nephew...He loved it too...Sweet story...i am sure kids gonna love these colorful & captivating pages.

I absolutely love the rhyming and the illustrations are fabulous. I know that children would enjoy having this story read to them over and over again. It is a fun way to learn counting and there are so many different things to look for and find in the illustrations.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who has young children in their lives. It is very well done!
